Abseiling

A supervised first descent, a private group experience or focused descent-skills practice for climbers.

Plan Your Day Or Trip

Confidence On The Descent

Abseiling is a skill in its own right. It can be a first supervised experience, the focus of a group day or part of a climber’s wider development. We agree the setting and technical scope around the people taking part.

Your First Abseil

Begin with an equipment briefing and a clear explanation of the session. Practise the movement and communication in a controlled setting before progressing to a suitable descent, with instruction and support throughout. The height and venue are chosen for the group and conditions.

Private Groups & Challenges

An abseil can form part of a friends’ day, a team event or a bespoke fundraising challenge. Participant numbers, access, time at the venue and any venue permissions need to be agreed before a programme is confirmed.

Descent Skills For Climbers

For climbers who already abseil, a session can focus on checking systems, rope organisation, communication and the principles behind an appropriate descent plan. Technical training is matched to your existing climbing experience; a first abseil experience does not qualify you to set up independent descents.

What A Session Can Cover

  • Equipment familiarity and supervised checks.
  • Movement, confidence and communication during the descent.
  • Rope management and appropriate backup principles.
  • More advanced descent systems where agreed for an experienced group.

Preparation & Participation

Tell us about previous experience, any concerns and any participation requirements before booking. Joining information explains clothing, footwear and what equipment is supplied. Your instructor chooses an appropriate venue and may adapt the plan to weather, access and ground conditions.

Take It Further

Abseiling also sits within our Climbing programme. For a wider private climbing day, see Guided Climbing; for a team or fundraiser, explore Bespoke Events.

Dates, Inclusions & Booking

Send your preferred area and dates, group size and whether you want an experience day or technical training. We confirm duration, staffing, equipment, any venue fees and the final price in your quote.
